Arrive at the end of the footpath

The car stops at the edge of the rice fields. From there it is a five-minute walk under coconut palms to the wooden gate, where lemongrass-ginger drinks and cold towels are waiting.

Down to the waterfall

Our guide leads you along the subak irrigation paths to a small waterfall in the valley. The water is cold, the rocks are slippery, and there is no signal. That is the point.

Sunset from the pool

The sky turns orange behind the coconut palms. The infinity pool faces west, so the sun sets right on its waterline.

Dinner by candlelight

Our kitchen cooks from its own garden: urab vegetables, grilled fish with sambal matah, and red rice from the field in front of the villa. The lights are kept low on purpose.

Dawn over the rice terraces

Wake before the sun. Mist still hangs over the terraces, and the first sounds are roosters and running irrigation water.

Breakfast on the terrace

Kintamani coffee, layer cake made by our cook, and fruit from the trees in the garden. Check out any time before noon. Nobody is in a hurry.
